The method for predicting the risk of sudden death syndrome in the infants provides for examining the pregnant women and finding out the risk factors of sudden death syndrome in the infants. The risk factors are entered into the prognostic table and the corresponding prognostic scores are assigned. The overall risk of sudden death syndrome in the infants depends on the calculated sum of the prognostic scores. In addition, several following factors are inquired: the place of residence, the occupation, the constitutional features of the parents, their age at the moment of the delivery, the presence of drug addiction, the characteristics of the menstrual cycle and the use of the contraception. The anamnestic data on the preceding pregnancy are collected (Caesarian section, the miscarriage, extragenital and gynecologic pathology, etc.). The pathology of current pregnancy is taken into account as well. The following factors are also considered: the sex of the fetus, the content of dopamine, the content of placental lactogen, progesterone, estriol, and estradiol in the blood of the pregnant woman inferior to normal values, the body length of the baby at birth, the perinatal pathology, the presence of the congenital defects in the infants.
