<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product information registration system that facilitates the recording of information on products such as agricultural products and marine products by using an information recording medium such as an IC tag attached to the products, and records the information according to the presence of management information that ensures that the record is valid. <P>SOLUTION: The product information registration system comprises a management information recording medium on which management information is readably recorded, and a product information generation apparatus having a product information generating means for generating information on a product, an information recording/reading means for recording the product information on the information recording medium, and a detecting means for detecting the information recording medium and the management information recording medium.
