<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank note discriminating apparatus which can be designed to be small-sized without installing an encoder outside a bank note conveying path nor considering installation space of the encoder by solving the problem that since the encoder constituted of a disk-shaped encoder plate and sensors is installed outside the bank note conveying path, it is designed considering the installation space outside the bank note conveying path and its miniaturization is difficult. <P>SOLUTION: The bank note discrimination apparatus comprises the bank note conveying path for conveying incoming bank note and the sensors provided to the bank note conveying path, detects whether the bank note passing are authentic or not by the sensors, and discriminates money kind by signals pulse outputted in accordance with rotation of the encoder. The encoder comprises a reflection sensor and a reflection rotation body which is paired with a rotating passive pulley and has unevenness on a circumference at regular intervals. The reflection sensor and the reflection rotation body are installed leaving some space between themselves, the unevenness of the rotating reflection rotation body is detected by the reflection sensor to perform pulse output, and the money kind is discriminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
