<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder, more commonly a liquid jet apparatus, in which more suitable ink jet control can be realized at all times while taking account of balance between satellite drop (mist) generation trend and impact accuracy on a recording sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid jet apparatus comprises a section for recognizing the distance between the nozzle opening of a head member and a medium being ejected with liquid. A jet drive signal is a periodic signal having a first pulse waveform capable of jetting a predetermined quantity of liquid drop corresponding to predetermined selected gradation data at a relatively low speed, and a second pulse waveform capable of jetting a predetermined quantity of liquid drop at a relatively high speed in one period. When selected gradation data is the predetermined selected gradation data based on the jet drive signal, a drive pulse generating means determines the first waveform as the drive pulse if the distance recognized at the distance recognizing section is not shorter than a predetermined value otherwise determines the second waveform as the drive pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
