PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cytostatic agent for vascular smooth muscle derived from natural materials and provide a substance containing the material.

SOLUTION: This cytostatic agent contains a natural tripeptide Ile-Val-Tyr (IVY) or a substance containing the tripeptide as an active component. The IVY can be separated from hydrolyzed wheat embryo and a hydrophobic adsorption resin containing the hydrolyzed embryo as an IVY-containing substance, for example, from an ODS (resin, YMC company (R)) fraction. It can be separated also from an ODS fraction of a hydrolyzed fish meat such as sardine meat. The IVY and the IVY-containing substance can be used as a food and drink as well as a pharmaceutical.
