PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system in which the power consumption of an imaging element of an imaging apparatus is reduced, the circuit of a timing generator including an imaging element power consumption control signal supply means is eliminated, and a load of a CPU is relieved. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus counts the number of assert times of horizontal synchronizing signals for an exposure period so as to apply bias current control to the imaging element.
