PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message transmission system capable of transmitting a message by an optimum notifying method corresponding to the intention of a transmitter side and the conditions of a receiver side and recognizing the conditions of the receiver side on the transmitter side. SOLUTION: When receiving mail, a controller 100 recognizes intention information (urgent / normal / not especially urgent) received together with it in a transmitter setting identification part 122. Also, information is acquired from equipment on an in-house network in a condition data gathering part 123, and on the basis of the information, the present conditions (absent / temporarily unable to respond / sleeping / normal) of a mail receiver are discriminated in a receiver condition identification part 124. Then, in a control part 121, the notifying form (voice / image display / condition return) of the message is decided from the intention information and the conditions of the mail receiver.
