PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic particle, and to provide a method for manufacturing the metallic particle. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metallic particles comprises: the first step of adding a temperature-sensing polymer in an aqueous solution of a platinum compound; the second step of adding an aqueous alkaline solution to adjust the previous aqueous solution to a predetermined pH value; and the third step of blowing a reducing gas into the solution and then shielding it from outer air; and the fourth step of holding it at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time. Here, as the temperature-sensing polymer, poly-N-ethyl acrylamide can be used. As the platinum compound, potassium tetrachloroplatinate(II) can be used. The predetermined temperature is in between 40°C and 80°C. The predetermined pH value is in between 6.0 to 9.0. The predetermined period of time is in between 0.5 hours and 24 hours. The metallic particles obtained by the manufacturing method contain 11-63% tetrahedral particles selectively having a face ä111}; and has an average particle diameter in the range of 6.8 to 15.6 nm.
