Sliding surfaces, coatings, edges and runners of winter sport articles can be made quicker, more grippy and more reliable in comparison with comparable parts of winter sports articles made from steel or hardened steel by the use of titanium or a titanium alloy in combination with hardening and coating in a PVD method. Winter sports articles with titanium components are corrosion-resistant and elastic independent of temperature. Coatings of titanium or a titanium alloy on skis or snowboards are more resistant and faster than plastic coatings. |
