<p>The method for the controlling of an internal combustion engine which has an impulse charging valve installed in the intake manifold upstream of the gas inlet valve, entails determining a desired mass air flow (MAFSP) in the cylinder (Z1-Z4) depending on load requirement, determining a maximum mass air flow (MAFMAX) which is adjustable during a maximum available intake manifold pressure at the actual operating point if the impulse charging valve permanently opens the intake manifold, and controlling the impulse charging valve depending upon a comparison value (VW) determined in dependence upon the two aforesaid mass air flows. An independent claim is included for a device for the controlling of an internal combustion engine by the proposed method as specified in the invention.</p> |
