Communications device for playing back sound signals comprises a mobile phone and a cordless earphone. The phone has a music playback module, a sound processing module for encoding music data and outputting digital data, a Bluetooth (RTM) module and a communications control module. The earphone has a Bluetooth module, a digital data decoder for the encoded music data signal and an output unit for playing back the decoded digital music data. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (A) A communications method for playing back a sound signal; (B) a mobile telephone for transferring a sound signal; (C) and a wireless earpiece for receiving a sound signal.
