Process and facility provides means to electronically acquire the reading behavior of print media consumers

A magazine is inserted into the reading unit (3) and then given to print media consumers for the acquisition of their reading behavior. The reading unit (3) determines the length of time the consumer read a certain information page (5, 6). This is achieved by data carriers (8, 9), which are attached to the information pages (5, 6) and are either within or not within the range of the reading unit (3). The reading unit (3) has only a short range of e.g. the thickness of the magazine. So if the print media consumer reads a page the data carriers (8, 9) are out of range of the reading unit (3). When the information page (5, 6) is turned over the data carrier (8, 9) enters the range of the reading unit (3) and the length of time is measured.
