A mouse with inhibited OCT3 expression is successfully constructed by administering the antisense of OCT3 gene into the brain. This mouse with the inhibited OCT3 expression shows a phenotype relating to mental diseases, for example, an antidepressive effect and an antianxiety effect and, therefore, is usable in screening a remedy for mental diseases. It is also indicated that an inhibitor for the expression or function of OCT3 is practically efficacious as a remedy for depression symptoms and anxiety neurosis.
