The invention relates to the medicine, namely to the obstetrics, the gynecology and the clinical biochemistry, in particular to the method for diagnosing the risk of miscarriage by assaying the concentration of the endogenous N-acetylglucosamine (total, free and bound) in blood serum of the pregnantpatients. The risk of the miscarriage is suggested when the concentration of the total N-acetylglucosamine is below 3.40 mmol/L, free N-acetylglucosamine -below 1.10 mmol/L, and bound N-acetylglucosamine - below 2.30 mmol/L.
