<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition for ink jets satisfying various kinds of requests such as high water resistance, quick drying time and suppressed bleeding, especially suppressed bleeding among colors and further having excellent preservation stability and to provide a method for ink-jet recording using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid composition for the ink jets comprises chitosan and a nonvolatile organic acid.
