<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst device of an internal combustion device having a simple structure and reduced in cost, which can prevent the poisoning of a catalyst caused by a poisoning substance and maintain the effectiveness of the catalyst for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst device of an internal combustion engine which cleans up exhaust gas by the catalyst supported by a carrier in an exhaust gas flow path, the amount of the catalyst supported by the carrier 4a on the exhaust gas upstream side is smaller than that of the catalyst supported by the carrier on the downstream side of the exhaust gas upstream-side catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
