<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce exhaust pressure loss, enhance a cell density and improve cleaning activity. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst layer 2 is formed on at least the inside of macro pores 11 of a honeycomb base material 1 which has the macro pores 11 on cell walls 10 and contains an oxide having micro pores. Exhaust gas passing through cell passages goes in and out through the cell walls 10 via the macro pores 11 and the micro pores, and thereby gas diffusivity is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
