<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored curable composition containing a dye having high heat fastness and light fastness, and a color filter and its production method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The colored curable composition contains at least one of the methine dyes represented by formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each represents tertiary alkyl or aryl; R<SP>3</SP>represents H, halogen, alkyl or aryl; and Z<SP>1</SP>and Z<SP>2</SP>each independently represents a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a 5- or 6-membered ring.
