<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving color of a transparent thermoplastic resin without losing transparency, impact resistance, and other mechanical properties. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the transparent thermoplastic resin improved in color comprises adding a divalent alkaline earth metal into a graft polymer latex obtained by carrying out emulsion graft polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising an aromatic vinyl monomer, a methacrylate monomer, and, if necessary, a vinylcyanide monomer in the presence of a diene rubbery polymer latex, coagulating the resultant mixture to be recovered as fine particles, and at that time, having an alkali metal salt of phosphoric acid previously present in the graft polymer latex. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
