PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse recorded data which are written once or overwritten by logical overwrite in a write-once type information recording medium. SOLUTION: The write-once type information recording medium is provided with a user's data area for recording the recorded data, a spare area for replacing a portion of addresses of the user's data area associated with the defect management in the user's data area or logical overwrite to the user's data area and a defect management area for recording defect management information (120) that includes a replacement list (122) indicating the corresponding relationship between the replacement source addresses in the user's data area being replaced by the spare area and replacement destination addresses of the spare area and identification information (500) for identifying each replacement to be made by defect management or by logical overwrite.
