PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device generating an excellent full color image over a long term without causing image shift by forming a fixing nip free from pressure relief by preventing hot offset from occurring owing to heating an unfixed image on transfer material before it enters the fixing nip. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a fixing member, a heating member and a winding member, an endless belt laid over the fixing member, the heating member and the winding member, and a pressure roller opposed to the endless belt and the fixing member and forming the fixing nip. In the device, at least either the heating member or the pressure member has a heating source, the winding member is arranged on the upstream side of the fixing nip, and the endless belt is wound around the upstream side of the fixing nip of the pressure member without coming into contact with the pressure member.
