PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stove pan bottom temperature sensor 8 to be upward energized by a spring 83 and supported at the upper end of a supporting pipe 7 erected in a space encircled by an annular burner 3 so as to abut on the bottom face of a cooking vessel P to be heated by the burner, with a cylinder body 81 having a lower part to be externally inserted into the supporting pipe in a slidable manner and a cover plate 82 mounted at the upper end of the cylinder body for accurately detecting the temperature of the cooking vessel even when the pan bottom temperature is thermally detected by the burner and for detecting it in a well responsibility when the cooking vessel is removed. SOLUTION: The cover plate 82 is formed of an infrared permeable material and an infrared sensor 84 pointing to the cover plate 82 is arranged in the cylinder body 81. An infrared ray emitted from the bottom face of the cooking vessel P permeates into the cover plate 82 and it is irradiated by the infrared sensor 84 to detect the temperature of the cooking vessel P.
