An LED unit (16) and fixing elements (30) are adapted to a standard electrical socket (2), so that the LED unit is inserted into the socket. Connecting parts (23,24) are connected to mains voltage wires in the socket. A transparent surface (26) of the LED unit faces outwards from the socket.
