The present invention provides a disposal device for chewing gum, which is easy to install and maintain. The disposal device comprises a holder 1 and a self-supporting disposable receptacle 2, wherein, in use, the self-supporting disposal device is held by the holder. The holder and receptacle may have aligned openings 4, 5 for receiving gum. An opening of the holder for receiving the receptacle may have a lid 7. The holder may have means for attachment to a post or wall, e.g. straps. At least parts of the holder and/or receptacle may be transparent. The device may have other shapes such as cylindrical. The holder may be of plastics and/or metal. The receptacle may be of box board, waxed or corrugated paper and/or acrylic.
