Bicycle headlamp using a LED as a light source

The device has a light emitting diode as a light source and an optical device for collecting and focusing the radiation emitted by the light source. The LED and the optical device are arranged and selected so that a light field with vertical (V) and horizontal (H) axes is illuminated and the maximum illumination intensity at the intersection point (14) of the axes exceeds 4 Lux, preferably 7 Lux and particularly preferably 10 Lux. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a circuit arrangement with at least one light emitting diode.
