When exercising with the aim of winning an important sports competition the training can be performed under the influence of an oxygen enriched or oxygen lacking atmosphere. An airtight room (1) is equipped with an air inlet (11, 14) and an air outlet (16, 19) as well as with oxygen (5), nitrogen (2), and carbon dioxide (8) supply units working with valves (12) and a distributing device (15) in order to be adjusted for the specific purpose. An additional container (13) facilitates the mixing of the gasses (2, 5. 8) if required. Moisture and temperature can also be regulated (20, 21).
