An ink cartridge (310) comprising an ink cartridge body having a bottom (322, fig.11), a first side (324, fig.11) adjacent to the bottom, a second side (326) opposite to the first side (324, fig.11), a plurality of internal partitioning walls (333, 335) within said ink cartridge body and a plurality of ink chambers (332, 334, 336) defined in part by said partitioning walls (333, 335); an ink supply section (340, fig. 11) having a plurality of ink supply openings (342, 344, 346, fig. 11) located by the bottom (322, fig.11) of said ink cartridge body, said ink supply openings (342, 344, 346, fig. 11) corresponding to respective said ink chambers (332, 334, 336); and a memory (360) comprising a contact terminal member (362) disposed on the second side (326) in relation to at least one said partitioning wall (333), wherein said partitioning wall (333) lies in a plane and said plane passes through said contact terminal member (362). The cartridge (310) may also comprise an inverse mounting preventing rib (329) which is engageable with the carriage of the printing apparatus when the cartridge (310) is installed in a proper orientation on the printing apparatus. |
