To unlock, and start the opening of, a vehicle door, motor 70 lifts pawl 24 and rotates latch 11 in direction 18 to be unlatched from frame bolt 18, the latch reacting with the bolt to push the door open (to the right). The motor oppositely rotates the latch to lock the door. The motor rotates a cam (Figs. 4 to 7, not shown), which is also moved axially by a spring, to actuate microswitches to reverse the motors' polarity, and thus its rotation. |
