A modular staging unit that can be used to construct a stage or seating platform comprises a number of base units 2 secured together using securing brackets 14. A stage board (10, Figure 1) is placed on top of each of the base units 2 to form a flat planar surface. Handrails (48 Figure 1) are secured around the periphery of the stage or seating platform for safety purposes. The base units 2 can be of different heights or they can be stacked one on top of another to provide a stepped arrangement. Each base unit 2 has a frame 4 and four legs 6. A vertical slot is provided in an upper part of each of the legs 6 for receiving an engaging part 18 of the securing bracket 14. |
