Method for detecting flaws in railway rails

A railway rail (3) needing to be tested is heated up in an edge layer near the surface along a surface to be tested. Sensors with an infrared camera system (2) detect temperature distribution on the surface of rails needing to be tested after the lapse of a time span when the rail has been heated up with a device (1). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) A device for non-contact detection of defective spots on a railway's rails or points components; (B) and for a rail vehicle with a device for non-contact detection of defective points on a railway's rails or points components.
