A desiccant container (12; 99) for use in an accumulator or a receiver/dryer (10) of a vehicle includes at least one integral mesh screen (30; 46) for preventing small particles from passing therethrough. Preferably, the container (12; 99) includes two integral mesh screens (30; 46), one (30) forming an upper surface of the desiccant container (12; 99) and the other (46) forming a lower surface of the desiccant container (12; 99). By incorporating integral mesh screens (30; 46), the container (12; 99) need not include separate filters.
