PURPOSE: A refrigerator for efficiently using a storage space by arranging shelves in a direction horizontal to a refrigerator, or erectly arranging a shelf at a rear wall of a refrigerator is provided to easily and promptly switch shelves between a horizontal position and a vertical position, thereby conveniently keeping foods various in size. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator has a main body(1) having a storage chamber(3) for keeping foods inside, and a shelf(10) arranged in the storage chamber. A support member(20) is installed in the storage chamber to horizontally support the shelf or erectly arrange the shelf. The support member is formed of base plates(21) installed at rear parts of both side walls of the storage chamber, and guide protrusions(23) vertically protruded from the base plates. Slide grooves(11) are formed at both sides of the shelf along the longitudinal direction. If the guide protrusions are inserted into front ends of the slide grooves, the shelf is horizontally arranged. If the shelf is erected and the slide grooves slide according to guidance of the guide protrusions, the shelf is vertically arranged adjacent to a rear wall of the storage chamber. |
