PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of temporarily forming a fluid barrier in a connection section between the filling system of a food packaging machine and an article supply pipeline. SOLUTION: The connection section 10 is provided with a chamber 16 having an inlet section 16a and an article section 16b. The inlet section 16a has an inlet 18 connected to a fluid system provided with an air supply section and a steam supply section. The article section 16b has an inlet 20 connected to the article supply pipeline 14 and an outlet 22 connected to the filling system 12. The steam supply section is used in a sterilization condition, and the air supply section is used in a cooling condition and a manufacturing condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
