An impeller pump ( 1 ) for a fluid includes a rotary impeller ( 5 ) and a pump housing ( 3, 4 ). The pump housing defines a first main flow channel ( 3 a) and a second main flow channel ( 4 a). A first inlet channel ( 3 b) and a second inlet channel ( 4 b) also are defined in the pump housing. The first inlet channel communicates with one end of the first main flow channel and the second inlet channel communicates with one end of the second main flow channel, so that the fluid is drawn into a first pump chamber ( 1 b) and the second pump chamber ( 1 c) via the first inlet channel and the second inlet channel, respectively.
