FIELD: organic chemistry, building materials. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gypsum composition used in manufacturing lightened gypsum plates and to a method for making gypsum plates by using the composition of surface-active substances and lightened gypsum plates made by this method. Also, invention relates to gypsum composition comprising in combination with gypsum the composition of surface-active substance containing alkyl sulfates of the formula: H(CH2)nOSO- 3M+ wherein n = from 6 to 16, and an average number of carbon atoms in the composition of aryl sulfates nm is from 10.1 to 10.7, and M means a univalent cation. Also, invention relates to a method for preparing gypsum composition and gypsum plate that can be obtained from this composition. Also, invention relates to a method for making gypsum plates.
