The invention concerns steel or cast iron balls with high carbon content, obtained by centrifugal atomization in a size distribution range preferably between 3 mm and 12 mm, and with bulk specific density higher than 4.3 g/cc, making them suitable to be used as grinding media for ore grinding. The rotational speed of the centrifuging plate (12) can be adjusted between 300 TPM and 1500 TPM. The minimum cooling speed in the volume of the balls is higher than 10 DEG C/second, and depends on the height of the drop (h1), and the depth of the pit (h2). |
