The ammunition round is fitted with a full or sub-calibre bullet (1) with an inner bolt (3) projecting from an axial bore (8) in its ogival nose (4). The bolt projects from the forward end (10) of the bullet and can slide on impact into the bore through an open conical cavity (11) that is combined with an expansion lip (12). The generating surface of the conical cavity forms an angle of between 10 and 50 degrees with the axis of the bolt, and the cross-section of the latter is equal to or smaller than the diameter of the bore for its whole length.
