The invention relates to an arrangement which is used to fix a gas generator (1) of an air bag unit. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution which enables the gas generator (1) to be fixed in a secure manner in the gas generator chamber (2) and also to enable radial and axial tolerances, in particular of the gas generator (1), to be compensated, also to enable the generator housing to be sealed in a reliable manner counter to the surroundings. The aim of the invention is achieved in the region of the end of the gas generator (1) which is opposite the fixed bearing wherein a plate-shaped, springy elastic securing element (3) is pressed between the outer periphery thereof and the inner periphery of the generator chamber which protrudes in an axial manner over the gas generator. The securing element (3) is curved in an axial direction in the generator chamber (2) after pressing in a section between the outer wall (10) of the gas generator and the inner wall (20) of the generator chamber (2).
