A video projector comprising a laser projecting section (50) having linearly polarized short wavelength laser beam light sources (1-3) and outputting the laser beams therefrom, a lens system (6a) for focusing the laser beams from the laser projecting section (50), a liquid crystal cell (7) for spatially modulating the focused laser beams, a camera-shake correction optical system (110) capable of translating vertically and horizontally on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser projecting section (50), a prism (24) transmitting the laser beams from the liquid crystal cell (7) and branching the reflected beams from a screen (10), and a camera (60) capable of observing or capturing a video image branched through the prism (24). A video projector capable of preventing camera-shake and being held with hands can thereby be provided.
