<p>The flexible heating blanket includes a metal band (3) embedded between two flexible insulating sheets of material (1). The sheet is assembled with a sheet of metal - for example aluminum - forming the conductor. This is embedded between sheets of insulating material, having been cut to the required conductor pattern. The flexible heating blanket includes a fine, conducting metal band (3) which is supplied with electric current at its ends (C,D), embedded between two flexible insulating sheets of material (1). The conducting band is made up from at least two elements (3a, 3b) running in a serpentine fashion, parallel to each other but spaced apart, from one end of the sheet (A) to the other. The sheet is assembled with a sheet of metal - for example aluminum - forming the conductor. This has adhesive applied to it prior to running over rollers which apply a layer of insulating material. The resulting material passes through a set of cutting rollers which define the required conductor track pattern, before application of adhesive and a second insulating support layer.</p> |
