A gazebo or pavilion has an integrated service bar joining two or more adjacent support panels and is configured with the server area of the servic e bar and the patron area of the service bar within the envelope of the shelte r and the patron area is congruent with the optimal benefit area of the shelte r. The service bar integrated with the shelter structure improves the structura l stability of the shelter in two axes. A lighting system can be added and supported by the roof structure. The lighting system can be powered by solar energy or conventional electrical wiring, and a fan unit can be incorporated with it. A separate barbeque island with a barbeque unit can also be attache d and a smoke screen can be used to prevent smoke from the barbeque island fro m entering into the service area or the patron area.
