PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive organic EL display device which allows information to be displayed with a plurality of emission colors. SOLUTION: A first polarizing member 40 is disposed in the front side of an organic EL display panel 20. A liquid crystal cell 50 has at least a first segment 51 and a second segment 52 and is arranged in the front side of the first polarizing member 40. A second polarizing member 60 is disposed in the front side of the liquid crystal cell 50 and polarizes only light of a specific color.A control means 80 turns on/off the first and second segments 51 and 52 respectively in accordance with information to be displayed on the organic EL display panel 20.
