PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing device easy to machine a rotary shaft, capable of preventing strength drop of the rotary shaft and capable of preventing lubricating oil from scattering outward by centrifugal force when the rotary shaft rotates. SOLUTION: The rotary shaft 6 is inserted in an insertion hole of a fixed sleeve 4 and is rotatably retained via a bearing part 11. Lubricating oil 9 is filled in a gap 8 between the insertion hole and the rotary shaft 6. A hub 7 is provided on a tip projection part of the rotary shaft 6 projecting out of the sleeve 4. A recess part 23 positioning around the rotary shaft 6 is formed on the hub7.The recess part 23 opens in a near side A opposing an opening end of the gap 8. Outer circumference surface 23a in the recess part 23 is inclined outward in a radial direction in a far side B opposite to the near side A in relation to an axial center direction X.
