PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope with excellent operability, capable of preventing wrong operation. SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises an insertion part including a flexible curved part 12, and a control part 2 including a curving operation part 30 for operating the curved part 12, connected to the base end side of the insertion part 1. The curving operation part 30 has curving operation levers 34 and 35 for operating the curved part 12 and control switches 36 and 37. The base ends of the curving operation levers 34 and 35 are rotatably attached to sides of the curving operation part 30, and the distal ends are disposed to extend at least over the outer surface of the curving operation part 30. The control switches 36 and 37 are disposed within the range of movement of the distal end of the curving operation lever 34 in the axial direction by the rotation of the curving operation lever 34. Grips 20 and 40 for gripping the endoscope are attached to the insertion part side and the base end side of the curving operation part 30, and differences in level 22 and 42 are formed in the connection parts of the grips to the curving operation part 30.
