PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for maintaining an elevator capable of preventing an elevator car from coming down to a shaft pit by an operation from the outside of the pit when the shaft pit is maintained. SOLUTION: A switch 14 for maintenance is disposed out of the pit 8 of the shaft 1, and a rope movement stopping device 22 of a speed governor is disposed in a fixing section of the shaft 1. A speed governor rope 10 is always released, and the speed governor rope 10 is gripped by operation of the switch 14 for maintenance to stop the movement. Thus, prior to the start of the maintenance, an emergency stopping device 11 is operated by operation of the switch 14 for maintenance from the outside of the pit 8 of the shaft 1, the downward movement of the car 5 toward the pit 8 is stopped, and the maintenance space in the pit 8 is secured. Therefore, work such as work that a maintenance worker comes into the pit 8 and mounts a downward movement preventing member of the car is not required to improve the working efficiency.
