PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a one-pack type curable resin composition which is excellent in wear resistance and chemical resistance when used as a protecting material for forming a protective layer on the surface of a molded article and has excellent storage stability capable of obtaining the protective layer not causing a crack in the curved surface part of the molded article, to provide a transfer material using the composition, and a protective layer forming method using the curable resin composition. SOLUTION: The protective layer of the molded article is formed by coating a substrate sheet with the curable resin composition and subsequently heating the coated substrate sheet to convert the curable resin composition for transfer material to a B-stage material. After the transfer material, the surface of the protective layer and the molded article are bonded, the bonded one is irradiated with an energy beam to form the protective layer on the molded article.
