The transporting frame for especially rectangular glass panes (20) has erection space for the vertically standing glass panes and is defined by a rear-side locating unit inclined outwards to the vertical and extending at right angles to the vertical plane of the glass panes, and a bottom-side support unit orientated at right angles to the inclined locating unit. The locating unit is detachable from the frame and can be refitted thereupon. The locating unit and transporting frame have corresponding retaining means for the detaching and refitting of the locating unit. An independent claim is included for an underbase for the transporting frame.
