<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of cracking due to shrinkage at 1,000°C or higher, i.e. a defect in producing ceramic products, by utilizing the functional characteristics of kieselguhr having macropores with a characteristic shape as a natural resource. <P>SOLUTION: A porous ceramic sintered compact which has a binary structure having a tunnel-structured pores formed by expansible slag and brings about environmental improvement effects as a fire-resistant heat-insulating material, an acoustic material, a water-treating material, or the like is produced by compounding specific amorphous slag exhibiting expandability when fired. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
