<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for measuring precisely a distance up to a preceding vehicle and a distance up to a following vehicle, from a prescribed vehicle, under a low cost condition. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver 15F, an amplifier 16F and a transmitter 17F are usually connected in series, a radio wave received from the preceding vehicle via a left side reception antenna 14Lr is amplified to transmit an amplified radio wave to the preceding vehicle through a right side transmission antenna 14Rs. A control means 18 separates the amplifier 16F, when input with a signal indicating push of a preceding vehicle distance measuring button 12F from a measurement indicating input device 12, imparts a trigger to the transmitter 17F to transmits pulse waves to the preceding vehicle, and counts the pulse waves. The transmission and the counting of the pulse waves are finished when the receiver 15F receives the pulse wave from the preceding vehicle. The distance with respect to the preceding vehicle is calculated based on the counted number of the pulse waves, and the distance is displayed on a preceding vehicle distance display screen 13F of an intervehicular distance display 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
