PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high yield in a step of attaching a flexible printed circuit board to a liquid crystal panel, even when a glass substrate is made thin. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device includes a step of fabricating the liquid crystal panel 2 with an exposed first part, on which an input terminal group of an array substrate 21 is mounted, uncovered with a counter substrate 22; and a step of putting the panel 2 on supporting faces of platforms 11, 12 so as to place the substrate 21 opposite to the support faces, in this state of interposing an adhesive layer 6 in between a second part on which an output terminal group of the flexible printed circuit board 3, having the output terminal group provided on one principal surface thereof is mounted, and the first part; and of connecting the first and second terminal groups and to stick the substrate 3 and the panel 2 to each other by pressing the second part to the first part. The method is characterized by applying the pressure, in a state in which the transparent substrate of the substrate 21 and the support faces are directly in contact with each other, or in a state, in which only a layer, which is harder to be deformed than the transparent substrate when disposed on the support faces and pressed thereto, is interposed between the transparent substrate and the supporting faces.
